Traditional Chinese Medicine is one of the four earliest TCM clinical centers in China. For over
50 years, Longhua
Hospital has been
dedicated to development of TCM and is known nationwidely for outstanding patient
care provided by its physicians and staff. With the distinguishing feature and
prominent advantage of TCM, Longhua
Hospital serves as a
famous Traditional Chinese Medical center that combines health care, education,
and scientific research. It is regarded as an exemplary national model TCM
hospital and is categorized as Shanghai
grade III level A hospital. Longhua Hospital has won the prize of Shanghai
Civilization Unit for 11 times until 2007；Longhua Hospital was awarded the national health system advanced
collectives. In 2008, the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine
identified it as national TCM Clinical Research Base.In 2009, it became one of
the ministry of education Yangtze river
scholars program distinguished professor positioned units. In 2012, the ranking
evaluation, Longhua Hospital took the first place among all TCM hospitals
of China.
Longhua Hospital provides over 2.5 million outpatient consultations and
discharge 32,000 inpatients annually. Longhua Hospital has 3 state-level key
disciplines and specialties, 9 key specialties of State Administration of TCM,
12 key specialties, 8 Shanghai advantage specialties,2 Shanghai clinical
medicine centers, 28 supervisors of Academic Succession of Famed Experienced
TCM Doctors, 21 Shanghai Famed TCM doctors and 36 doctoral supervisors, one chief
scientist of National 973 program.
Acupuncture Department
Acupuncture Department, founded in 1960, is one of the
four earliest departments in Longhua
Hospital, Shanghai
University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In the past 50 years, acupuncture
clinic is dedicated to treat the patients in the multidisciplinary care using
well-skilled traditional techniques, such as manual acupuncture,
electro-acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, acupoint
injection, acupotomy and herbal medicine. She is dedicated to the advancement
of acupuncture and modern TCM by undertaking research into its principles and techniques;
and the ongoing education for postgraduate and PhD study and clinical training
for students and internal students/doctors to become competent in acupuncture
and TCM diagnostic and treatment techniques. There are 25 doctors in
Acupuncture clinic, among whom 15 are senior specialist, have international
clinical experience. Acupuncture clinic of Longhua
Hospital is one of the biggest
acupuncture health care centers, and the biggest World Health Organization international
acupuncture clinical training centers in China.
Lu’s acupuncture
therapy
Lu’s acupuncture therapy is created by LU Shouyan and his
wife Zhu Rugong who are the famous acupuncturists in Shanghai during the 20th century. In 2010’s, LU’s acupuncture therapy is admitted
to the third list of National cultural heritage. In July 2012, Lu’s acupuncture
center set up in Longhua
Hospital, Shanghai
University of TCM, and based on the acupuncture department clinic. Professor Lu
Yanyao is the director of the center, who is Lu shouyan and Zhu rugong’s daughter.
Lu’s acupuncture therapy is good at using Warm needle and herb cake-partitioned moxibustion. |
