International Forum on Traditional Chinese Medicine
May 26-29, 2016, Shanghai, China
First announcement and invitation
The Shanghai University of Chinese Medicine is celebrating it´s 60 years anniversary in 2016. For this occasion it is great pleasure to invite you to join the International Forum of Traditional Chinese Medicine research from May 26 to May 29 2016 to Shanghai. The meeting is hosted by the Longhua Hospital of Shanghai TCM University and co-organized by the long-term international cooperating partner HanseMerkur Center for TCM at the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf. This cooperation is an integrative part of the Shanghai-Hamburg city partnership. Within the 30th anniversary events this year the support of the Hamburg Senate is expected. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), especially acupuncture and herbal medicine, are important modalities of complementary medicine and have become popular around the world. However, the optimal applications of the therapy and its scientific basis are not yet understood in all details. As a result of this, scientific research on TCM with modern approaches has an increasing relevance. The proposed symposium will provide a high-level platform to promote academic exchange and further improve our understanding of herbal medicine and acupuncture. The conference welcomes academic and clinical participants from all over the world. There will be lectures and discussions for the topics of traditional knowledge, basic science, clinical application, and new technology focusing on acupuncture and herbal medicine. We will have an opening ceremony on May 27 with keynote lectures. On May 28 an anniversary ceremony and a series of lectures will be given. A detailed program will be sent to you in April. As the time for preparation is short, we ask you cordially to make your registration at your earliest convenience. On behalf of the Organizing Committees, we welcome you to come to Shanghai and hope that the meeting will contribute to promoting great progress in the research of acupuncture and TCM. In addition, participants can experience the wonderful and lively city of Shanghai.
Kind regards,
PEI Jian, Prof Dr, Chief Doctor,
