Global research trends in acupuncture for cancer pain: A bibliometric analysis
Global research trends in acupuncture for cancer pain: A bibliometric analysis针灸治疗癌症疼痛的全球研究趋势：文献计量分析Background: In recent years, acupuncture has gained popularity in the management of cancer-related pain (CRP). This study aims to use bibliometric analysis to investigate the historical development, recent hotspots and research trends in this field.Methods: The Web of Science Core Collection database was selected as the data source for this study to retrieve and obtain literature related to acupuncture and CRP. Data analyses were performed with CiteSpace and VOSviewer to conduct the bibliometric analysis.
Results: This bibliometric analysis was conducted from 2000 to 2022. A total of 664 publications were included in this work. The number of publications has steadily increased over the last 2 decades. The United States has the largest number of published articles (244 papers), while the People's Republic of China has the highest centrality (0.48). The primary research institutions were Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Kyung Hee University and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Mao Jun J. was the most prolific author, while Heather Greenlee was the most cited one. The most productive journal was Integrative Cancer Therapies. The most frequent keywords excluding the search subject were "electroacupuncture," "management," "quality of life," "breast cancer," "Aromatase inhibitor," "neuropathic pain," "mechanisms," and "protocol."Conclusion: This study explored the application value of acupuncture in the management of CRP with bibliometric analysis, offering an intuitive understanding of this topic and revealing the hotspots and research trends.背景：近年来，针灸在癌症相关疼痛（CRP）的治疗中越来越流行。本研究旨在运用文献计量学分析方法，探讨该领域的历史发展、近期热点和研究趋势。方法：选择Web of Science Core Collection数据库作为本研究的数据源，检索和获取与针灸和CRP相关的文献。数据分析采用CiteSpace和VOSviewer进行文献计量分析。结果：本文献计量学分析于2000年至2022年进行。这项工作共收录了664份出版物。在过去20年中，出版物的数量稳步增加。美国发表文章最多（244篇），中华人民共和国的中心性最高（0.48篇），主要研究机构为纪念斯隆纪念癌症中心、庆熙大学和北京中医药大学。毛是最多产的作家，而希瑟·格林利是被引用最多的作家。最有成效的期刊是《癌症综合疗法》。除搜索对象外，最常见的关键词是“电针”、“管理”、“生活质量”、“乳腺癌症”、“芳香化酶抑制剂”、“神经性疼痛”、“机制”和“方案”结论：本研究通过文献计量学分析探讨了针灸在CRP管理中的应用价值，直观地了解了本课题，揭示了研究热点和趋势。https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37832094/
